Covenant
The first duty of Government is the defence of the realm. Our Armed Forces fulfil that responsibility on behalf of the Government, sacrificing some civilian freedoms, facing danger and, sometimes, suffering serious injury or death as a result of their duty.
We commit to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.
How does the Armed Forces Covenant Work?
The Armed Forces Covenant is the nation’s commitment to those brave men and women who proudly protect our nation with honor, courage, and commitment.
This pledge acknowledges that those who serve in the armed forces, and those who have served in the armed forces, deserve fair and respectful treatment in the communities, economies, and societies in which they serve.
As part of the covenant, members of the military community are enabled to easily access government and commercial services and products just like anyone else.
