485cm x 275cm Vintage Prison Kilim (Cotton)
‘Prison Kilims’ are fortunately rare to find, especially ones of this size. They get their name having been made by weavers who were imprisoned by the Taliban in the 80’s. They were allowed to weave as a means of occupying their time and would often make cotton kilims of this size for regional Governors.
This has a several small holes and a few ink spots and stains due to the 40 years it has been in use.
